How to Prune Your Cactus

Pruning is as easy as grasping the segment you wish to remove and using your thumbnail to create a clean snap at the juncture. While some suggest twisting the segment, I find that my cactus requires a bit more effort for a precise cut. Remember, safety first – be cautious while handling the plant.

What to Do with the Trimmed Pieces?

Now that you have trimmed segments from your Christmas Cactus, what’s the next step? You have a couple of options. You can either add them to your compost pile or, if you’re feeling adventurous, root them to create more plants!
